Access and participation of women & girls to education, training & employment

The WNC invites you to their Partners’ Event on the priority theme of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) 2011 on Tue 5 Oct, 10:45 – 15:30, Eland House, Victoria.

The event will review the Beijing Platform for Action goal on education & address issues such as encouraging girls & women into Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics. The outcomes of this event will help to inform WNC’s CSW55 written statement & its ‘side event’ for NGOs at the next CSW session in New York 2011.

Loraine Martins Hd of Equality, Inclusion, Employment & Skills, ODA

Marion Scott Policy Advisor, UK Resource Centre for Women in SE&T

Prof Averil Macdonald Director of STEM Engagement Centre, Univ. of Reading

There will be 6 workshops on the day on the specialist CSW theme of “Access and participation of women and girls to education, training, science and technology, including for the promotion of women’s equal access to full employment and decent work”.
