Funny Women in Brighton

On Saturday 26 th November, Funny Women will be holding another fantastic Brighton Nights showcase at Komedia, Brighton. The show will feature fantastic female comedy ranging from Award winners, improvisation and musical comedy

Hosting the show is Brighton’s own Lara A King. The self-confessed ‘people pleaser’ who was crowned Winner of this year’s Funny Women Awards

This show will feature:

Katie Tracey

Winner of Beat the Frog, Manchester 2010. Katie was a late starter as far as stand-up comedy is concerned. After a dare from a friend, she did her very first gig at the 2010 Liverpool heat of the Funny Women Awards, where, to her own surprise, she managed to make people laugh. Since then she has gigged around the Northwest.

Lucy Frederick

Lucy Frederick, Up The Creek One to Watch finalist, brings affable middle class confusion to the microphone. An actor, writer and fat model, Lucy has been performing as a stand up for two years and has had two comedy plays produced by London fringe theatres

Checkley & Bush

Checkley & Bush are a bubbly, lively double act with surreal characters and dance routines that would give Lady Gaga a run for her money. They were Finalists in this year’s Funny Women Awards.

Mae Martin

Mae was once voted one of the funniest people in Canada, after conquering Canada she is now, armed with a guitar, winning over British audiences with her catalogue of witty songs.  Mae appeared at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival with her solo show ‘I’m not waving, I’m drowning’.

The Laydays

Comedy mayhem from improvisational group The Laydays. They’re sharp, they’re quick and each performance is completely unique. Expect quick wit, games and some audience participation.
